Matcha!

Blogging is harder than it sounds. So, instead of procrastinating, Im just going to put my weaknesses out there and take you along with me. Usually when I cook or bake I forget to take pictures at all. Now that I am starting to remember, I always forget the finished product. So Im going to tease you and show you photos of these adorable mini cupcakes in progress...and not let you see the end! Meh, I will just make some more :)
Matcha refers to finely-milled green tea, most popular in Japan. The cultural activity called the Japanese tea ceremony centers on the preparation, serving, and drinking of matcha. In modern times, matcha has also come to be used to flavour and dye foods such as mochi and soba noodles, green tea ice cream and a variety of wagashi (Japanese confectionery). Matcha is a fine ground, powdered, high quality green tea and not the same as tea powder or green tea powder. It also happens to be my favorite flavor cupcake.
The natural color of the tea 'dyes' the batter and icing completely green, its so pretty!
These came out perfect. They were so delicious! I will be glad to make them anytime. Now, because I didnt get final product pictures you dont get to see the icing, so stay tuned for when I make these again.
